Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research (MSPR), it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 2026 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.

The MSPR Annual Meeting is central to our Society's mission: bringing together a community of pediatric investigators united by a shared commitment to advancing pediatric science and improving child health while fostering the development of future leaders in academic pediatrics. Each year, this meeting highlights the strength of pediatric research across the Midwest and creates opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful connections among investigators and institutions.

One of MSPR's defining strengths has always been its commitment to trainees and early-career investigators. We are proud to foster an approachable, supportive, and collaborative environment where emerging researchers can present their work, receive constructive feedback, and build lasting professional relationships. From our career development workshop and interactive leadership panel to our engaging scientific sessions and abstract presentations, there are many opportunities to learn, connect, and become part of the MSPR community.

This year's program reflects the breadth and excellence of pediatric research across the Midwest, showcasing work in basic and translational science, clinical investigation, quality improvement, and population health. I hope you leave inspired not only by the outstanding science, but also by the remarkable community that makes MSPR such a special organization.

I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to our colleagues at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Hospital for Children for hosting this year's meeting. We are honored to gather at such an outstanding institution and deeply appreciate the generosity and dedication of our hosts. I also thank the MSPR Council, Program Committee, moderators, sponsors, exhibitors, and the many volunteers whose efforts have made this meeting possible.

I look forward to seeing many of you in Indianapolis this September as we come together for another memorable meeting dedicated to advancing pediatric research and improving the health of children.
